The Browning Service and Distribution Center located in Arnold, Missouri, is searching for a full-time Quality Assurance Technician to join our team.
This position will routinely conduct audits and testing on Browning and Winchester firearms, measure and analyze firearm parts for conformance to the Technical Data Package (TDP) and assist with new product qualifications. The position requires extensive firearms testing (shooting) including large gauge and magnum caliber firearms. The position requires understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), experience in metrology, and with Microsoft office software.
The duties performed in this position involve:
- Inspect incoming Browning and Winchester firearms for acceptability and conformance to specifications and then prepare technical reports conveying results.
- Requires use of metrology equipment which may include, but not limited to: optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, force gauge, Hardness Test machine, height gauge, borescope, gauge pins, headspace gauges, etc.
- Ability to marshal data from different sources, and can identify patterns in data, analyzes data, and draws conclusions. Makes pragmatic decisions based on range of factors. Makes decisions quickly where necessary and backs up decisions with facts.
- Interpretation of the Technical Data Package (TDP) for Winchester and Browning firearms as required.
- Ability to measure and convert units of measurement from the US Customary unit system to the Metric system.
- Perform Browning and SAAMI Safety and Security tests.
- Build and grow mutually beneficial relationships within the organization.
- Perform testing of product at both onsite and off-site shooting ranges.
- May require some travel.
