Accounts Payable Clerk / General Accountant

Wixom, Michigan
Job Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable
    • Ensure correct payments are made to vendors in a timely manner. 
    • Work closely with other departments, i.e. purchasing and receiving, to investigate variances in receipt quantities and purchase price.
    • Analyze invoices for accuracy and timeliness of payments.
    • Reconcile the Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt clearing account and make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
    • Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
    • Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • General Accounting – As needed
    • Perform material cost analysis.
    • Record payroll accounting journal entries.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using SAP a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software a plus
  • Understanding of accounts payable functions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong ethics, integrity and qualities that inspire trust and confidence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well at all levels of the Company.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 plus years in the accounting field
  • Knowledge of  ERP systems, SAP systems knowledge a plus

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding, follow detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with complex problems involving a few concrete variables/details in variable situations.
