Vortex is searching for a Director of Information Technology with strong leadership skills to oversee all functions, applications, and personnel within the Information Technology Department.  This role will play a critical role in determining and implementing key technical projects aimed at increasing scalability and improving process efficiency throughout the organization.  
 
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead technology initiatives for the organization including but not limited to system selection, infrastructure, and website development
  • Lead, develop and maintain an effective department through proper selection, training, assignment and development of personnel
  • Oversee all technology operations and functions
  • Lead projects and teach excellent project management skills to empower the IT team and create force multipliers
  • Define and oversee successful implementation of IT systems and solutions that align with the organization’s goals
  • Facilitate meetings and foster collaboration between departments
  • Communicate project updates with sponsors, stakeholders, and project team members
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and system processes to provide recommendations for system and process improvements
  • Direct research and or recommendations of new and emerging technologies and services that will enhance overall business performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Experience and Skills Needed to be Successful 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Information Technology with demonstrable success in system implementations, change management, cross functional collaboration, and making a company successful through IT solutions – preferably in a variety of roles 
  • 7+ years of experience leading technical implementation and support teams with demonstrable success in improving support service, growing teams, and growing leaders.
  • Should be motivated in, and be able to give examples of developing personal, leadership, and emotional intelligence skills as well as motivating your team to do the same
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with demonstrable examples
  • Strong customer service skills/focus with demonstrable examples of how IT services improved customer experiences
  • Excellent project management skills with a deep understanding of end-to-end processes
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders and key users to determine acceptable solutions
  • General understanding of all functional areas within the business
  • Strong and demonstrable technical aptitude and initiative
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, etc.)
  • Experience with AD, Group Policy, Networking/telephony, and Virtualization 
  • BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
